For more than a decade, New York Oncology Hematology has offered a peripheral blood autologous stem cell program to adult patients with a diagnosis of multiple myeloma, Hodgkins Disease, non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and germ cell tumors.

The transplant process consists of stem cell mobilization, stem cell collection and storage, high dose chemotherapy, stem cell reinfusion and a 28-day recovery period.

This well-regarded outpatient program, located at our Albany Medical Center site, allows patients to remain at home or close to home during the course of transplant services. Patients and their caregivers have 24-hour-a-day access to a member of the transplant team during the entire outpatient procedure. In addition, the transplant program has an established relationship with Albany Medical Center staff should there be a need for hospitalization while undergoing transplant services.

The transplant team also maintains a network of community-based services including home care and interim housing options to assist patients and their caregivers.
