Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants – often referred to as mid-level providers – are integral members of the NYOH staff.
- A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a nurse who has undergone advanced education and training and is licensed in New York State to diagnose illnesses, order tests and prescribe medications. Nurse practitioners work in a collaborative relationship with physicians and other members of the health care team.
- A Physician Assistant (PA) is a health care professional with advanced education and training and is licensed in New York State to diagnose illness, order tests and prescribe medications. Physician assistants provide medical care to patients under the supervision of physicians.

Carrie B. Kreitner, RN, MS, ANP-C
Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) Carrie B. Kreitner, RN, works primarily with the physicians and staff of the NYOH Albany Cancer Center at Patroon Creek. Mrs. Kreitner is a graduate of Maria College in Albany and the SUNY Institute of Technology in Utica where she earned both bachelor and master of science degrees.
A Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society honoree, Mrs. Kreitner is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society and the NYS Nurse Practitioner’s Association and associate member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Ellen McGrann, MS, PA-C
Physician Assistant (PA) Ellen McGrann works primarily with the physicians and staff of the NYOH Albany Cancer Center at Patroon Creek. Mrs. McGrann is a graduate of Albany Medical College/ Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Stony Brook. She earned her master of science degree from SUNY Albany.
Mrs. McGrann is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Margaret M. Nagy, RN, MS, ANP-C
Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) Margaret M. Nagy works primarily with the physicians and staff of the NYOH Latham Cancer Center. A certified oncology nurse, Mrs. Nagy is a graduate of Maria College in Albany and the SUNY Institute of Technology in Utica. She received her master of science degree from Sage Graduate School in Troy.
Mrs. Nagy is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association, Capital District Chapter, and the Oncology Nursing Society. She is also a Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society honoree.

Amy E. Boehme Silver, RN, MS, ACNP-C
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-C) Amy Boehme Silver works primarily with the physicians and staff of the NYOH Hudson Cancer Center.
Mrs. Boehme Silver received her undergraduate degree from Le Moyne College and an associate in applied science degree in nursing from Maria College. She was awarded a master of science degree in nursing and a post-masters certificate from Sage Graduate School, Troy.
Mrs. Boehme Silver was a recipient of the Broughton Scholarship for outstanding research; she was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society.

Lisa J. Wolf, MMSc, PA-C
Physician Assistant (PA) Lisa J. Wolf works primarily with the physicians and staff of the NYOH Albany Cancer Center at Patroon Creek. Certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants, Mrs. Wolf is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo, and received her master of medical science degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. She participated in a preceptorship program at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
Mrs. Wolf received the Class of 1999 Outstanding Academic Achievement Award from the Emory University Physician Assistant Program. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and Association of Physician Assistants in Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
