Our Multidisciplinary Team
The NYOH Cancer Center in Amsterdam is one of the oldest cancer care programs in the NYOH network. It began more than 25 years ago as a one-room office on the campus of St. Mary’s Amsterdam Memorial Hospital.
Our multidisciplinary staff includes board certified physicians who are specialists in medical oncology, hematology and radiation oncology. Other integral members of the patient care team include oncology certified nurses, laboratory technologists, radiation therapists, pharmacists and support personnel.
Together, the physicians and staff of the NYOH Amsterdam Cancer Center – more than 30 in all – provide a comprehensive array of diagnostic, consultative, therapeutic and supportive services. We take great pride in our patient-focused, quality-driven approach to providing care and in our ability to deliver leading-edge technologies, contemporary therapies and innovative research protocols.
In addition to their integral role in community-based cancer care and treatment of blood disorders, many NYOH physicians are actively involved in the education and training of medical students and residents at Albany Medical Center.
The staff also works closely with medical and surgical specialists, primary care physicians and other health care providers and institutions throughout the region to ensure a continuum of quality health care services for patients and their families within their own communities.
